Otto F. Briede brings a distinguished career in funeral service and a profound commitment to community engagement to his new role as Managing Partner at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home during its 150th Anniversary. With nearly four decades of experience serving families in the New Orleans area, Mr. Briede is a fourth-generation funeral director renowned for his compassionate approach and dedication to excellence. Mr. Briede’s leadership is characterized by a deep-seated passion for serving others and a comprehensive skill set in operations, sales, and marketing. His vast experience includes former positions at New Orleans Catholic Cemeteries, Service Corporation International, Preneed Funeral Programs (PFP) and Southland National Insurance Company. He is a proven executive with the ability to cultivate strong community relationships, develop strategic initiatives, and drive business growth.  Throughout his career, he has received numerous accolades for his commitment to the families he has served as well as leading sales and operations teams, including being named Funeral Director of the year at Jacob Schoen & Son in 1992!   Otto enjoys spending time with his wife, Christine and their two daughters.  They love spending time at the beach as well as new restaurants to dine at.

Otto shared a brief history of Jacob Schoen & Son which dated back to 1874 as Jacob Schoen and Henry Frantz started a family business at 155 N. Peters Street. In 1935, the Schoen family acquired the beautifully landscaped and imposing funeral home, which has come to be a New Orleans landmark, considered to be among the most beautiful funeral homes in the United States. The main lobby and additional parlors were added in 1957, followed by the addition of the chapel ten years later in 1967. The building was carefully restored following Hurricane Katrina to retain that historic look and feel that so many New Orleans families have come to expect.
