NEXT WEEK’S PROGRAM
ROYAL CARIBBEAN INTERNATION CRUISES
Next week our program will be Mark Stoneham, Business Development Manager with Royal Caribbean International Cruises. I have had a lot of interest in members bringing guests to this program. Please let me know in advance if you will be bringing any guests so that we can make sure we have enough seating and food for everyone.
VISITATION
GNOEA held a morning visitation on June 14th at John Lagarde, Classic Cupboard place of business and 38 of our members were in attendance.Â
Joe DiMaggio, Rose Garden of Jefferson catered the event and the food was great! We wish to thank John Lagarde and his staff for such a wonderful visitation!
TODAY’S GUESTS
Today we were pleased to have as our guests Danielle Viguerie, Communications Director, guest of Arnie Fielkow, Alison Burns with Sage Payment Solutions, guest of Michael Fredrick, Point2Point, Margo Beerman, guest of Marc Beerman, Beerman Precision and Thompson Murray & Eli Haddow, both guests of Stanton Murray, Murray Yacht Sales.
PROGRAM
Today our program featured Arnie Fielkow, Councilmember-at-Large. Mr. Fielkow was first elected to the city council in May 2006 and re-elected Councilmember-at-Large in February 2010. Through active leadership, Councilman Fielkow demonstrates the value he places on several fundamental areas of governance, namely: economic development, good government reforms and youth and recreational issues.
Councilman Fielkow continues to build opportunities for sustainable business growth and retention, expansion of international trade in New Orleans, improving services and support for the city’s small businesses, and the development of a downtown medical district. Councilman Fielkow has worked tirelessly to establish the city’s first inclusive and collaborative economic development public-private partnership, the NOLA Business Alliance, which is currently being implemented.
A particularly notable accomplishment from his first term was the enactment of legislation expediting the creation of an Office of Inspector General for the City of New Orleans. The Office of Inspector General is a critical position intended to ensure that every dollar of taxpayer’s money is spent fairly and efficiently.
We wish to thank Mr. Fielkow for speaking with our association!
CHANGE OF VENUE
Just a reminder that in July, GNOEA will hold its breakfast meetings back at the Rose Garden of Jefferson for the months of July, August and September!
