NOMINATION COMMITTEE

 The Nominating Committee would like to announce its recommendations for President-Elect: as Joey DiMaggio, Rose Garden of Jefferson, as Treasurer: Joey Bender, Retirement Strategies Group, and for board members: Charlotte Binnings, Town & Country Travel, Mike Mitchell, Fisher & Philip and John Lagarde, Classic Cupboards.

 If you would like to be nominated or would like to nominate someone to serve on the Board of Directors, please contact Bill Ello, Chairman of the Nominating Committee.  At the May 24th weekly breakfast meeting the floor will be opened to accept other nominations.

 If no more than three members are nominated, then they will automatically be elected.  If more than three people are nominated, then a ballot will be composed including all nominees.  At the June 14th breakfast meeting, GNOEA will hold an election for three members to serve on the board of directors.  The Executive Director shall record each yea, nay and abstention into the minutes in accordance with Robert’s Rules of Order.  The Chairman of the Nominating Committee (Bill Ello) shall not be entitled to vote except in the case of a tie vote.

 Today we were pleased to have as our guest, Charles Henry, Chief of Staff, guest of Congressman Steve Scalise.

 

 PROGRAM

 Today our guest speaker was Congressman Steve Scalise.  Congressman Steve Scalise was re-elected in November of 2008 and again in November of 2010 to continue serving Louisiana’s First Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

 Scalise is known as a staunch conservative who advocates for the principles of fiscal discipline, lower taxes, a comprehensive national energy policy, ethics reform, a strong national defense and traditional family values. 

 We wish to thank Congressman Scalise for taking the time out of his busy schedule to visit with us and Don Chailland for arranging his visit!

 

BOARD OF DIRECTORS 

The Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday, May 24th, immediately following the breakfast meeting at the Ralph’s on the Park Restaurant.  All Board Members and Committee Chairman should attend.  All members are welcome.
