 DR. PAUL POISSENOT

It with a sadden heart that I must inform all of you of the passing of Dr. Paul Poissenot this past weekend.  He was a respected member of GNOEA since 1987 and has served on the board of directors many times, along with various committees.   His kindness and friendship will be missed!

As soon as I have any information concerning the funeral arrangements, I will pass them on to you.

CHANGE OF VENUE

Remember to mark your calendars; GNOEA will start holding our breakfast meetings at Ralph’s on the Park beginning October 4th through the end of December.

TODAY’S PROGRAM

Today we were pleased to have as our guest speaker Ken Berthelot, Director of Sports Programming & Account Executive at LeSEA Broadcasting of New Orleans: WHNO-TV-20.  Ken is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University and has a Master’s Degree from Tulane.  He is responsible for developing sports and special programming that fits the mission of the family, Christian, and sports oriented station.

Prior to WHNO-TV, Ken spent time in college athletics at both Tulane and Nicholls State. At Nicholls, he was the Associate Director of Athletics and was the radio and television voice of Colonels.  He spent 15 years at Tulane University as an Assistant Athletics Director and was the radio “Voice of the Green Wave”.

As the Director of Training for Dale Carnegie in most of Louisiana and Mississippi. Ken developed trainers and personally instructed the Leadership Training for Managers® Class, the Dale Carnegie Course®, and customized courses for major corporations.

You may remember Ken as a local television sportscaster anchoring Live-at-Five for WVUE-TV, channel 8 where he worked with both Buddy “D” Diliberto and Major League Baseball’s Miracle Met, Ron Swoboda.

We wish to thank him for visiting our association and sharing his knowledge of the sports industry!
