PROPSECT FOR MEMBERSHIP

Dan Duplass, Deluxe Cleaners is currently going through our membership process under the classification of “Dry Cleaners”.

PROGRAM

Our speaker for Today was Kathy Barnett, Ph.D. with Loyola University New Orleans, College of Business.  Dr. Barnett received her PhD in Communication from Louisiana State University with an emphasis in organizational communication and a minor in Educational Leadership, Research, and Counseling.  She holds a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina in Student Personnel and an undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana Lafayette in Speech Communications. 

Dr. Barnett serves as the internship coordinator for the college working with about 100 students a year on their internship experiences.  She is the faculty advisor to Alpha Kappa Psi and also serves as an interim assistant dean for the college.

The College of Business has a renowned history of preparing the young men and women of today to become the leaders of tomorrow.  Loyola provides an excellent setting for the type of individualized education that it takes for our students to reach their potential.

Internships give students a chance to explore their chosen fields, as well as allow them to pursue specialized business topics in a professional setting.  Work sites vary from Fortune 500 companies to small, family-owned businesses and not-for-profit organizations, in New Orleans and around the country.  During their junior or senior year, they’re required to spend between 120 and 150 hours at a job site.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday, February 5th, immediately following the breakfast meeting at the Ralph’s on the Park.  All Board Members and Committee Chairman should attend.  All members are welcome.
