Kathy Barnett, Ph.D. with Loyola University New Orleans, College of Business.Â Â Dr. Barnett serves as the internship coordinator for the college working with about 100 students a year on their internship experiences.Â She is the faculty advisor to Alpha Kappa Psi and also serves as an interim assistant dean for the college.

Internships give students a chance to explore their chosen fields, as well as allow them to pursue specialized business topics in a professional setting. Â Work sites vary from Fortune 500 companies to small, family-owned businesses and not-for-profit organizations, in New Orleans and around the country.Â During their junior or senior year, theyâ€™re required to spend between 120 and 150 hours at a job site.
