Mr. McNamara has a lifetime of experience in building successful collaborations in real estate and economic development. As the President and CEO, he is responsible for the programmatic and physical development of the biosciences industry sector which includes developing partnerships between the biopharmaceutical industry and member universities, job creation, industry recruitment and investment, workforce training and development (K-12 and the unskilled worker), small business development and neighborhood development to create a destination of choice for industry. The BioDistrict is governed by a 15 member Board of Commissioners and has taxing and bonding authority as well as the ability to finance private projects and/or enter into Public-Private Partnerships (P3) to assist in creating new economic development opportunities for New Orleanians.
