Important Matters Affecting Your Business

GNOEA met via Zoom on Tuesday October 20, 2020 for organization updates and to learn about matters affecting your business as a result of COVID-19. Tim shared tips on when and how to address employees and their time away if they have become ill or have been exposed to COVID-19 without exposing the company’s liability. He also referenced  tax credited paid leaves for employees such as the Family First leave of absence for companies with fewer than 500 employees.

Philip encouraged all to consider reviewing personal and business tax plans for 2020 and 2021 with their CPA. Programs like the CARES Act, the Payroll Protection Plan, the Louisiana Main Street Grant and Trump’s 2017 Tax Act, may have tax implications. He provided suggestions on how a company can take advantage of these programs.

Recording and presentation will be in meeting archives
