Regional Area Planning Update

Thanks to member George Messina for catering this week’s networking event at the Rooftop on Basin.

Sappington shared information on upcoming road projects noting the life expectancy of most is 20 years. Most area roadways are reaching the end of their life before needing repairs/replacements. He announced a Causeway to Earhart interchange is underway. A project to move the Gretna rail to Peters Rd. to avoid neighborhoods along the rail is also being considered. This project would be costly and requires input from the rail companies. The dilemma regarding the removal of the Claiborne overpass, continues.
