Better Business Bureau

Michael Drummond is President and CEO of the Better Business Bureau Serving Southeast Louisiana, where he leads efforts to strengthen trust between businesses and consumers across the Greater New Orleans region. Prior to relocating to New Orleans, Michael spent 13 years with the Better Business Bureau Serving Central Florida in Orlando, gaining deep experience in accreditation, governance, and marketplace trust initiatives. Today, he works closely with business leaders and community partners to promote ethical business practices, fraud prevention, and integrity as a competitive advantage in an increasingly complex marketplace.

Michael Dummond presented to the GNOEA members a brief background on the BBB. The BBB is a local non-profit (501c6) organization. There is a license agreement with the International Association of BBBs to provide a BBB program and services in designated areas. The local offices are evaulated annually bu the IABBB for compliance with performance standards. the Local BBB offices are governed by a local board of directors.

With a BBB membership, businesses have access to promote their accreditation with the BBB logos. Businesses also have accress to an online buisiness portal. An accredited business can easlily request reviews from customers and can send reviews to their BBB profile and other online platforms like Google, Yelp, & Facebook. Any business can create an online business profile with the BBB even if they are not a member.
