GREATER NEW ORLEANS EXECUTIVES ASSOCIATION
July 10, 2012
Just wanted to let all of you know that on Tuesday, Charlotte Binnings informed the association that Joel Daste had suffered a mild stroke. He is doing fine with only a slight paralysis on one side. I will have a get well card for all of us to sign next Tuesday.
Lately, we have had many disturbances during our meetings with cell phones. It interrupts the meeting, so please turn all cell phones on off or on silent during this time. If you must take a phone call, please take it outside of the ballroom. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Today we were pleased to have as our guest speakers, Senator Conrad Appel – District 9. Senator Appel graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1973. He has 35 years management experience as Senior Executive of large general construction, construction management and specialty construction firms. He currently is the President of Construction South, Inc., which specializes in industrial and commercial general construction. He has been the developer of numerous successful residential & commercial real estate projects and has been a licensed real estate broker for over 25 years.
He is currently on the Commerce, Consumer Protection, and International Affairs Committee, Education Committee as Chairman, and the Judiciary A Committee and the Retirement Committee.
We wish to thank Senator Appel for visiting with our association.
Today Joey DiMaggio handed out awards to outgoing Treasurer Joey Bender and thanked everyone for helping him throughout his term. He then handed over the gavel to new president, Robert Ramsey.
Robert Ramsey thanked Joey for the excellent job he did as president and presented him with an award. Robert then introduced Stanton Murray as the new President-Elect & Program Chairman, and Philip Rebowe as the new Treasurer.
