JOHN EASTMAN
HONORARY MEMBER
John Eastman announced his recent retirement from Auto-Chlor, but he had expressed a desire to remain a part of GNOEA. Because John has been a successful business man, a leader in our community, a great representative of GNOEA for over 34 years, GNOEA’s board of directors unanimously granted him an Honorary Membership. Â
At Tuesday’s breakfast meeting President, Stanton Murray presented John with a plaque declaring him an Honorary Member in the Greater New Orleans Executives Association.

JOEY DIMAGGIO – UPDATE
Charlotte Binnings visited Joey & Vita DiMaggio yesterday at St. Tammany Hospital. She informed me that Joey has had some very serious complications and will not be receiving visitors or accepting phone calls at this time, but he will take any and all prayers.
Â
PROGRAM
Our speaker for Tuesday was Michael Hecht, President and Vera Lester, Senior Development Associate, both withof Greater New Orleans, Inc., which is the economic development agency for southeast Louisiana. Â Â Michael holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was a member of the Public Management Program, and an undergraduate degree from Yale University, magna cum laude.Â
GNO, Inc.’s mission falls broadly into two categories: business development – attracting and growing businesses – and product development – creating better business conditions.
Michael gave us an update on the current economic status of Louisiana. He feels that New Orleans has fared better than most states through the recession and New Orleans may have missed most of the housing crisis. He informed us on many positive news articles published about Louisiana.Â
The GNO, Inc. predicts an unprecedented level of business development activity in our region which suggests that a profound economic resurgence is occurring.
 Â
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
