Cybersecurity Part Two – Information Technology (IT)

Chad Perrier, Vice President – Universal Data, Inc.

This cybersecurity presentation, was part two of a two part session that provided  information on cybersecurity safety from an IT perspective. Perrier opened the meeting by saying that the more we depend on computers and technology, the greater the risk for cyber attacks on your personal and business information. The latest tactic is extortion; when payment isn’t made to the hackers, your information is released to the public web. To keep from falling prey to phishing attacks, check the sender’s email address for misspelled words or odd characters. Perrier shared tips on security posture: ensure policies are up to date, update anti virus software and train employees by making them aware. Perrier strongly encouraged purchasing Cybersecurity insurance for additional protection.
