A New Kind of Diversity, Building Bridges of Influence Between Generations

Angela Verdin, President of Complete Logistical Services

Thanks to member George Messina for catering this week’s networking event at Rooftop on Basin.

Long time GNOEA member, Angela Verdin, presented information on diversity workforce culture. With five generations currently in the workforce, each generation has their own communication style. From the builder’s generation born between 1929 – 1945, to the loyal and respectful baby boomers, Gen X to Gen Z, the entrepreneurial and digital generations, its important to learn how to communicate with each respectfully and understand how to react with these differences. How can we connect? By listening, having respect for others who are not like you and to learn from one another. The Department of Labor Force projects that the 2025 workforce could potentially include six generations in the workplace.
