Disabilities in the Workplace

Julia Achee, Human Resources & Policy Director for Chevron

Thanks to member George Messina for catering this week’s networking event at Rooftop on Basin.

In addition to HR and Policy Director, Achee is Chevron’s Employment Compliance Counselor who shared information on understanding hidden disabilities and how to build a workplace where employees feel like they belong regardless of their disability. With sixteen percent of U.S. workers having one or more non-apparent disabilities, Achee, provided some examples, such as anxieties disorder, auto immune disorders and neurodevelopment disorders such as ADHD or learning disorders.  Achee, provided resources to help employers understand what they can do to help.
