Dr. Robert A. “Bobby” Savoie, Loyola’s College of Business

Dr. Robert Bobby Savoie, serves as the Dean of Loyola’s College of Business.

Dr. Savoie shared information about New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW) hosted by Loyola’s College of Business in March. He shared the steps taken to build the image of the College of Business.

Savoie had everyone on staff trained on AI in an effort to get them to embrace AI at the College of Business AI. Now it is used to prepare lesson plans, and helps  with the way they teach.  Step two was to build the image of the College of business which was viewed as a mediocre business college. The college wanted to grow by entering into a venture and private equity capital phase. Instead it was tested and hosted by Loyola and co-produced with the idea village that ultimately worked well. By holding NOEW on the college’s campus there was a good mix of people and involvement by the students, faculty and staff. In 2026, Loyola took it over with Idea Village helping to produce the whole event.  5K people registered for the whole week with 2500 actually attending all of the segments. The focus was not only on technology but on the entire New Orleans ecosystem.

He announced that next up is the kicking off an Executive MBA program with Ochsner. Ochsner will send 30 doctors, 8 nurse practioner and some administrative executives to the 2 1/2 year Executive MBA program. This program is not a healthcare MBA but will be aimed at helping them with the business aspect of the health care industry. This is one more step towards building the image of the College of Business that will ultimately increase revenue and donations.
