Ty Angeron CEO of Nola Hotel Group Speaks to GNOEA

GNOEA met via Zoom on Tuesday July 14 for organization updates and to discuss the local hotel and motel industry with guest speaker Ty Angeron, CEO of Nola Hotel Group. Ty is an experienced hotelier with more than 35 years in the industry. He is responsible for 5 boutique hotels and 1 hostel in New Orleans – Blake Hotel, St. James Hotel, La Galerie Hotel, Hotel St. Pierre, Andrew Jackson Hotel and The Quisbey. These properties account for approximately 400 rooms in the city.

Nola Hotel Group has continued to be fully committed to keeping its doors open during COVID.  During the meeting Ty discussed the history of the hotel industry, New Orleans room capacity, short-term rentals, tourism outlook and most importantly, why he feels the New Orleans tourism industry is fail-proof.  While the current situation presents a waiting game, he believes New Orleans and the hotel industry are destined to recover due to: (1) Location and Assets; (2) Service Oriented Leadership and Workforce; and (3) High Barrier to Entry.
